Hello everbody.

The C5 is NOT available for end users - its a pure tester and developer program we want to do.

So, to be a tester is there anyone special you are looking for or can anyone become a tester. ?

Testers  do _NOT_ need to know anything about VHDL, chip design, or FPGA programming.

Ideally testers should be keen on trying out several games , programs or demos.
Phoenix comes to you with something buildin similar to an action replay.

If a demo fails - a tester should be willing to use the action replay and "grap" the failing code part.
We can show you how to do this.

I great help would be if some testers have some 68K ASM knowledge or are interested in learning this.

Testers should be willing to make screenshots / take pictures or movies e.g. showing ADoom with 50 FPS. :-)
Testers should not be afraid to own the fastest Amiga.

I own a Amiga500 rev 6a, amiga1200 1.4.d, and a amiga600.

Jim Drew should get a board and make sure Macintosh emulation will work. In time maybe he could implement a Macintosh chipset on FPGA too, and have it running all natively.

Who wants macintosh/apple fpga!, we want a amiga clone/ with improved hardware.

guess you know what happens to anyone trying to make a apple clone u know what happens to those companies!....

I would love to be able to do that, I don't see the issue with this. Why are we even saying this is a bad thing?

I don't understand the negativity, price is right, performance is right and being able to slowly add features by firmware update?

I totaly agree. I am totaly speechless when reading this negativity that I have been reading in this thread today. Tought every amiga user wanted something new. And now we soon will have it and how does some react.....

The new CPU is so much faster than we can now look at stuff like H264 playback which is totally senseless to try on old 68030.
So whether there is a new instruction used or not - does not make a difference the new video datatype will anyway not run on old slow 68030.
And also 68060 will be too slow in many cases.

When can we see some screengrabs where SASG is used, or is too early. ?

I have been following this thread since it was started!. But now it looks more like a war zone, so why cant we agree on a way forward.

And from there how do we get a working product, something that a user can buy. ?

And right now I really need new amiga hardware most of the time I spend on restoration on commodore/amiga to get them to work so would be extremely good if we as a community can please agree on a way forward to develop new modern amiga hardware.

Could we stop going down the track of promising a 68k that will use modern software? It is distracting from current software releases.
  No one should develop software that will only run on a faster than 060 processor. A few games might be the exception.
  It is no longer fun when I am worrying about expansions and upgrades.

What software releases are u talking about. ?
