I have used
this administrator password remover many times with great success. Once you run it you will then be able to login as administrator with no password. This will give you access to all other user directories and files.
UPDATE - okay, I just reread your post and think maybe that what I have suggested may not work. Why not just try and reinstall XP on that drive? It should keep all of the other user information intact and then you can login as administrator and access the files. Maybe even booting your system with a DOS bootdisk might work. Try
