Blizzard 1260
« on: October 26, 2003, 09:34:03 PM »
Having now returned to using my A1200 (3.1) as my main computer I fancy getting a Blizzard 1260 board for it - this should enable it to do all I want with very few problems.  I was bidding for one on eBay the other day but was outbid with 7 secs remaining (bastard!), though I would have gone higher if enough time.  Final price was £180.  I was wondering what people reckon is a fair price for one of these boards and if anyone has noticed how frequently they appear for sale on UK e-Bay?
Also, just installed an internal 2.1gb hard-drive the other day.  Was surprised to notice that the Amiga seems to powersave it after a while.  I didn't think that Amigas (certainly A1200s) were able to do this.  Is this actually the computer or do newer IDE drives do this for themselves?

Good point.  I hadn't really thought seriously about looking at auctions from other countries.  Are there any hardware compatability issues or different versions of this kind of hardware between differnt countries or does this just apply to display devices?

Cheers! I thought that that was likely to be the case but good to have confirmed.
