Hiya Sir,

Regarding the floppy drive, don't know how it works technically, but it's a piece of tinkerware, the hardware on the access 'translates' the pc drive to be Amiga compatible.

About the Web.It, back in 1999 Bernard van Thienen (ex Commodore Netherlands CEO) and some friends got an idea for a product, licensed the commodore brand and commodore 64 products names and built the Commodore 64 Web.It.
Basically, it's a PC running PC-Dos 7 and Windows 3.11 on a specially designed AMD CPU. It also comes with a C64 emulator, Netscape, Email, Lotus 123 and a lot more - all built into Rom.
It has a touchpad, 56k modem, diskdrive, VGA out, TV out, parallel, serial, gameport, IDE interface, 2 x pcmcia etc.
They used to be around HFL 800 at introduction (apprx. 350 euro). We bought the remaining lot for a decent price and offer them for 39 now, new in box.

More info here btw:

Cheers,
Ron

The Access, what power source does it need ??? AT or ATX ???

It gets its power from a standard 4-pin power connector, just like a cd-drive or harddrive.

Can you mount it in any new PC case or do you need to find an old one to fit it in ???

It has the same dimensions (and screwholes etc) as a 5,25" drive so it would fit any bay, however it is 'deep' - in many cases the PSU gets in the way. In an original 4000T it would fit I think.

They used to present it in an external 2 x 5,25" bay case, the Access in one bay and an IDE CD-Rom in the other, as seen on the pictures on amiga-hardware.com.

Cheers,
Ron

So it is a little bit impossible to fit it inside an A4000D

Indeed... Same goes for the 2000.

Fit it in an ATX case with an A1 and get an AmigaOne with AGA as a result ;-) - sort of..

Ron

I think they weren't that cheap when they were first released either... More expensive than an a1200.

Hi Martin,

4+ days to go and still at 91 euro currently.

Meanwhile, we've added some new Amiga CD, CD32 and CDTV titles. There are more to follow, we need the warehouse space ;-)

Best regards,
Ron

Less than a day left on the Access auction, several others less than a few hours!
