I belive that this is transformator/switchgear oil.
Some of the specs that this kind of oil has to meet is a watercontent below 30ppm (that`s partspermillion) a pourpoint below -60°C and a breakdownvoltage of 30kV or 70kV for the dried grade. And yes is is quite expensive in produktion, at least in industrial quality.
Not really interesting, but it`s there.
