The best reason a 3000 (or 4000) owner would buy one of these is to have as a spare to test their computer with should it start failing to boot. WIth one of these known working cards sitting in a bag you know you can eliminate your 040 or 060 board as being the faulty part should it still not boot with this thing popped in. Besides it's TEN BUCKS man... name another accelerator card you can grab as a spare/test unit for ten bucks. Plus you can shove a 50MHz 68882 in there easily and cheaply and have a nice enough FPU.
(I should mention that I have 6 new 50MHz 68882 chips here in sealed static bags also.
