A500 memory expansions
« on: October 05, 2003, 01:42:25 PM »
Hi all! ;-)

I have two A500 memory expansion boards. I've seen that they have 8 sockets for memory chips but have only 4 chips installed. I wonder if I could extract those 4 chips from one of the boards and install them into the other one. Could I obtain more memory?

Just a thing I noticed reading this forum... maybe (surely, I think) the batteries are dead... if I remove them, I will loose the clock, but will the board still be working fine without it?  :-?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your answers! :-)

My computer is an A500. The chips aren't solded directly to the board, they are inserted into chip sockets, so I could easily extract/insert them. In fact, that's not the problem. The question is if the Amiga would recognize the extra modules as extra RAM :-) or just ignore them :-(

Sorry as this may be a silly question, but what's an A500+? You mean an A500 with the newer Agnus or something else?

Thanks again.
