you need to know the type of mail server your Internet Service Provider (ISP) uses; the most common is POP3, there's also IMAP and others.

I am not sure if YAM and Simplemail support IMAP (I think they do but don't quote me on this) - but they certainly support POP3. You will need to find out the address of the mail server (e.g. when I'm in Spain I usually use pop3.eresmas.es) and set the correct type in each program's config. This is for receiving messages.

If you want to send messages as well you will have to find out your ISP's smtp server's address and configure YAM / Simplemail accordingly.

I'm sorry Ivanhoe but I have neither the time nor the strength to write a step-by-step tutorial for your convenience. It really is quite simple, just have a go at it your self and if you stumble upon a problem write back and someone is bound to help you out.

Do it like the rest of us did, by way of trial and error - no better way to learn IMHO.
