Genesis TCP and cable modem

Has anyone actually used Genesis to connect to a cable modem?  I was sold it under those pretenses by Software Hut, but when it didn't work I emailed the current developer, Haage et al as I remember, who said it was never tested for cable and they didn't know.

I also want to connect it thru a Netgear cable router.

Anyone?  Anytwo?

Thank you one and all!  I also just found out that squirrelscsi.device cannot be installed, so maybe I'm on my way.
