i am confused as to how a port to PS3 is going to save the platform. what am i going to do with it? browse the web? WOW your blowing my {bleep}ing mind away! how many people (per 1000 that purchase a PS3) are going to install another OS? out of that, how many are going to install amigaOS over linux? the answer to both is not many....To persuade people to install another OS there has to a reason apart from "look at my pimped out console". there really isnt a valid reason.
They do the port, I've guaranteed a 1000 units of OS4 sold (after a year, I'll personally buy the difference) thats the best option they've had since I guaranteed 1000 units if they did the port to the PPC Mac years ago. The PS3 is more powerful and in most cases cheaper then every other PPC option offered for OS4. You'd be silly to run games on it in OS4 mode, looking at the software I wrote for the amiga, I think most realize I dont think of the amiga as a game machine, but the OS needs hardware, the last hardware for it was made almost 28 months ago, and the PS3 is fast hardware, easily available, full warranites and cheaper then an AmigaOne ever was and cheaper then Samantha, Panda or Megetherium ever will be.
