Carrie Fisher has that in one of her books, so I wouldnt take that as an Urban Legend.
2) Mark Hamill was undecided for Empire Strikes Back after having his face rebuilt after a massive car crash.
Mark Hamills face was badly damaged in a car crash before the premiere of Star Wars, parts of Empire were modified to compensate with it, if Hamills surgeons hadnt been so good, he may well have been replaced.
