Alot of CF cards will NOT work with the PCMCIA and WILL work on internal IDE> The safest bet is to use official Sandisk CFs only. THere are threads online about what cards work and what dont..

sounds to me like this is your problem

btw "PRep card" as matt stated is only used for PCMCIA memory cards not prepping driveds for HD ur CF card is probably incompatible.

Now there is a cool hack i wish I had. I read an article a few years back how to do it but lost it. Did you do it yourself? Can u send some pics plz?
