I don't think so.  A3000 has WD SCSI, not NCR (like A4091, A4000T).

Since NoIDE disables scsi.device maybe it's possible to use it.

NoIDE replaces the scsi.device by a dummy RomTag that does nothing. Effectively disables the IDE controller. This can be handy, if you don't have any drives at the IDE port and want to avoid the delay for the driver to find that out.
