The original kickflash was a drop in replacement for the original ROMs and was to be available for all Amiga models including A1000, A500, etc etc.
20.10.2000: Kickflash finally in production! After a long time, the revised version of Kickflash finally went into production. First, the total Amiga-classics A500 and A1000 are served: In addition to 1MB Flash memory for kickstart Roms, a 86-pin slot for A2000 accelerator boards and a Zorro-slot are given. A version for the A1200 will follow.
18.06.2003: Kickflash OS4: Final product specificationsDue to the high demand, Kickflash OS4, which has been announced on June 2nd, has been revised. The base version now has 1MB of flash memory, and can be expanded to 1GB on an expansion port. Transfer rates can be compared to normal harddrives, but the common access times of mechanical mass-storage media practically don't exist on flash memory: On random access, so-called solid-state memory is about tenthousand times faster than common harddrives.
