Nonsense.  The Famicom (or NES) has almost nothing in common with the MSX, aside from being Japanese.

How could that be when the Famicom was released BEFORE the MSX?  I don't dispute the fact that games originated on the MSX like Metal Gear, Parodius, etc. but the hardware was not influenced by it.

The MSX standard was announced in June 1983 , but hardware wasn't released until later that year (according to msx websites).  The Famicom was released on July 15, 1983.  So, how again could Nintendo have been "inspired" to come up with a similar system?
