Did you format the partitions? After you create the partitions in HDToolBox, save changes and exit, you still have to format them. Just chick on the DH0:NDOS icon and select Format Disk from the Icon menu.
Also, because of the problem mentioned above, make sure to keep the partitions below 4GB.
