Why not turn off the IDE from the CSPPC BIOS? I did this on mine for testing and it seemed to boot faster (I also turned off all of the SCSI IDs that I wasn't using at the same time so that might have helped also).

What I meant was the CSPPC has an option to turn off the motherboard SCSI.DEVICE (IDE). Therefore eliminating the need for the IDE hack. You can also turn off the motherboard SCSI and individual CSPPC SCSI devices if needed.
