Hey guys,  Im taking Pre-orders for the next run of D-UAE Dedicated Amiga Emulation Stations.  Let me know your interest in this thread.   I will have 10 systems available this run.  I hated to increase the cost but the cost of hardware fluctuates,  and I am now including an upgraded version of AmigaForever the Plus Edition

The D-UAE is a dedicated emulation station,  It is based on WinXP  Embedded and WinUAE.  It boots into ClassicWB 3.1 in Picasso96 Mode.   It is loaded with a ton of Demos,  It has Ethernet and serial support on  the Amiga side.   The system is highly configurable. Can even run OS  3.9 if you have the license for it.   It is configured to run WB 1.3,  2.0 and 3.1,  All the Workbench ADFs and HDFs are included on the  internal 16GB Flash memory.  Which is easily removable to backup to your  own personal hard drive.
This system will run any bit of Amiga software you throw at it.
 System Specs are as follows

  • AMD Sempron 2200+ Processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 1GB Internal Flash that holds XPe
  • 16GB Internal Removable USB flash memory that holds UAE and all associated files.  Easily backed up to your own hard drive.
  • Clonezilla Image of all files included will be available for download  :)
  • 8GB USB Flash drive for easy file transfer to the D-UAE
  • AmigaForever Plus License is included A 29.95 Value in the purchase price and comes on a USB flash drive  :)
Pricing is 135.00 Shipped in the USA
Anywhere in the world $200 shipped

They work great for what they are.  Im waiting for the t5740s to come down in price,  then they will be intel atom based,  but those are still selling for 75 bucks a piece.    Ive not had any complaints,  and people love them.

you should create option #2..  no hardware, just the ISO image for people who can find the thin client on their own and do not wish to buy another.

Im working on that right now as we speak,  a 16GB Flash drive containing clonezilla images of the systems.  So you can get your own T5735 and just clonezilla it

This is not a heavily modified version of Windows XP,  its Windows XP Embedded,  which every T5730,5735 owner has legal rights to as it is freely available for download from HP's website.

As far as speedwise it runs games just fine,  these are fine tuned systems fully tested before sale.

The workbench pack that is included is ClassicWB 3.1 in Picasso96 mode.  I did not tweak that experience,  and ClassicWB 3.1 is available for anyone to download and set up on your own system.

I am not greedy,  You are paying for the hardware and the cost of an AmigaForever Plus license which is 30 dollars in itself.  The thin clients run me on average between 35-45 dollars each.  then the cost of a 16GB Flash drive which runs around 15 dollars in my neck of the woods,  same with the 8GB you get with it which contains AmigaForever.  So its $110 just in hardware.   I also include shipping which runs another 12 dollars plus the cost of packing material.  So im right on the ballpark with pricing.

I do this for fun,  not to make a ton of money.  This is an affordable way for someone who cant afford a real amiga to get the experience of having the amiga like experience.

I'd like to point out what som99 just posted in the other, now closed thread about c64man allegedly claiming the CPU to be faster than it actually is:

http://www.amiga.org/forums/showpost.php?p=775475&postcount=2

Personally, I can't imagine a 1 Ghz CPU being all that useful for emulating an Amiga. You'll also note that the promotion video on the website never shows any Amiga games or applications running. Not to mention that the Workbench setup shown in this video doesn't look like too much time was spent fine-tuning things.

The business model in general strikes me as greedy. Buy old, practically useless thin clients somewhere, slap a new OS setup on the CF card, then sell for 135 USD?  That's some nice pocket money. And abusing a community site for aggressive spamm^h marketing (12 threads or something like that have been opened about the "AmiGO", "Amiga Mini", "D-UAE" so far) isn't my cup of tea either.

To those who want to buy the OS setup seperately: He can't do that, as it contains Windows XP. I doubt selling heavily modified versions on DVD is covered by the XP license.

If this is the kind of reaction im going to get from this project then they will go on ebay and thats where they will stay,  in fact ive sold a number on ebay and have had no complaints about the pricing specs or anything.

Im not trying to make a killing off these things,  Just trying to cover my costs.  And I will be releasing a clonezilla image of the config once I sort out the costs for that.   I designed this system and Im not going to just give it away.   Sorry I worked too hard on this just to do that.

The D-UAE Project has run its course.  The availability of hardware has dried up.  I am looking at another solution as we speak.

The project is dead for good.  Thanks to a few in the Amiga community who felt it necessary to bully me out of existence.  I dont need the drama and crap this community has.

So I bid you all Good Day and goodbye
