Use RAM on expansion card as harddrive?
« on: March 06, 2008, 08:51:46 PM »

A few years back (2000/2001) I read in a magazine about a PCI card which you could populate with RAM modules, max 4GB if I remember correctly, and then use as a fast (and quiet) "harddisk" to put the OS on. In order to prevent the information from being erased from the RAM on shutdwon, a power supply was connected to the back of the card.

Does anyone know if a card like this exists today (perhaps PCIe) for the consumer market? I´ve been thinking about it lately and thought it would be atleast fun to try out, if it exists/is available..
