Ten (10) 68030/25 A4000 or A3000 accelerators
« on: November 20, 2003, 06:37:56 PM »
Just added ten new A3400 cards on eBay in case anyone is looking for spares. I think $9.95 is a pretty good deal for one. I could be wrong... but I guess I'll find out in 7 days! lol

Actually, I still have two A3000T's (both need power supplies) One works 100% and has maximum RAM on the motherboard (I think that means it's got 8MB of FAST but I'd have to double check). I WOULD have listed this if Centsible hadn't screwed me on the power supply I bought from them.

The 2nd 3000T has problems but before I could troubleshoot it I sold the 3rd 3000T/040 and along with it went my only good power supply. (I had 3 3000T's at one point).

The working 3000T has an A3000T/040 bezel with a small melt mark (it got stuck against a radiator at one point) on the side of the bezel. The other is in perfet condition but isn't badged 040. I'd love to list these soon as I find power supplies for them! :)

Besides this 040 one, which I can't guarantee works perfectly because I can't test it (although it did work last year when I tossed it in a 2000 to see if it fired up and it did), I do have a couple 2630 boards, and some other doodads (a couple 68000 socket replacements with 68030's on them). I know the 2630 boards I have work, I tested them both completely before selling my last working Rev 7 motherboard in the spring.

I guess I really should spend some time and get one of these 2000's (or 2500's) I have working again. I robbed so many chips from them for other people that I might end up with some "1.3 originals" but at least I can test stuff on them.

I actually wouldn't mind the MB out of the good A3kT.. you gonna eBay it or would you consider parting it out?

Won't be parting them out. I'd prefer selling the whole unit once I get a power supply for it. I had it up and running and was using it as my "test bed" for various cards before I sold the other new 3000T and needed this unit's PS for it. It's just gotta be the nicest original Amiga design ever. The 3000's are such nice machines, so well built, and even nice to look at... the 3000T"s are just plain sexy.

That's neat, the whole board or just a cpu card?

I have an AGA graphics card that predates the AGA chipset by 5+ years. :)

No, it's not actually an AGA chipset card, it's an "Advanced Graphics Adapter" (goes in the 2000's video slot) and give you flicker free CGA video output. Now there's a hot graphics card...  :-D

Sure, it is a lot faster than ZERO!

Try to turn on an Amiga 4000 without one of these in there.  :-D

Sure, and there were 68020 A3200 cards as well (which is what these are if you remove the 030 and shove an 020 to the left of it). Those work in 4000s and 3000s...

Besides, these are listed in the Commodore parts index as "A3400 68030 Accelerator Board"

Not the only reason...

The best reason a 3000 (or 4000) owner would buy one of these is to have as a spare to test their computer with should it start failing to boot. WIth one of these known working cards sitting in a bag you know you can eliminate your 040 or 060 board as being the faulty part should it still not boot with this thing popped in. Besides it's TEN BUCKS man... name another accelerator card you can grab as a spare/test unit for ten bucks. Plus you can shove a 50MHz 68882 in there easily and cheaply and have a nice enough FPU.

(I should mention that I have 6 new 50MHz 68882 chips here in sealed static bags also. ;)

They're "new" 68060/66's and they're also by Apollo. Nobody seemed to be interested in the Apollo cards, so I haven't comitted to getting them yet.

The 3000T PS is a different animal. Longer cords, different pinouts (I think, but could be wrong about the pinouts, too lazy to check :) and definitely different Watts (more). I have a bag of power switch plungers for 4000/3000 power supplies so I could fix that, but I don't think it'll work in the 3000T, or if it does it certainly won't go where it needs to (the 3000T has wire connections to the top bezel where the power rocker switch is.

I do appreciate the offer though =)

Hey, what a neat idea, I'll go take some shots of the 3000T I have here, including the power supply etc.

Maybe it will be educational to somebody out there. :)

Hmm, I replied to the one (you asking about the 060/66 boards). I'll reply to it again. That's the one you meant right?

You can always get ahold of me at sales@amiga_deals.com as well (remove the _ it's there to avoid spambots).
