I dunno, from my point of view as a sometimes-frequent Amiga seller (and a fairly frequent buyer to complete certain items before I sell them) it works both ways. While I've never knowingly shafted anyone (I did send a busted A3000T keyboard with an A3000T system to somebody but immediately sent the one I knew worked when he emailed me saying he got a bad one -- I screwed up when I packaged, certainly not intentional) I HAVE been scammed by a guy who bought an A4000 from me 8 months back. After initial customs hassles, he then said the PS was dead so I cross-shipped him a new one. Except he NEVER sent me back the "dead" one. I know today the peniswrinlke is more likely than not running two perfectly working A4000's side by side.

That one single buyer ruined it for anyone else who buys from me. I will never cross-ship parts, in good faith, even to an Amiga buyer with a 1000 rating, and in most cases even to people who have bought from me before. A buyer can take it up with PayPal and get their money back, complain to eBay and get something done about the seller, however a seller can't do anything at all once they've shipped the items.

I should have known from day 1 that he was not going to be a good person to deal with. Apparently I personally run UNITED STATES CUSTOMS and I should have told him up front that I PERSONALLY would be charging him an additional fee for a customs tarrif on an item imported with a value over $200. Yeah, I run US Customs as a side line enterprise... Oh well, live and learn. Sure takes a lot of the fun out of eBaying around 5000 Amiga items, and it totally discouraged me from putting amigadeals.com back online (I dont get the "extra" protection that eBay offers with the simple threat of bad feedback when I ship something so why bother?)

Hey, thanks for letting me counter-vent. If you want some "new" vintage Amiga stuff, at really cheap prices, I have more than I know what to do with, and no I don't have a running inventory list to send you... ;)

Too bad you are down under

Actually, I'm "up above" (Canada). I'm always open to offers! I just don't have the time to devote to this like I'd prefer to (I don't like giving half assed service, so I just don't post stuff for a week or more at a time to prevent doing so).

I do still have a pile of A1200 parts (motherboards, keyboards, cases, shields, drives, 3 or 4 A4000's here, 10 or so 500's, a couple 1000's, the only A2200 in existence and all A2200 development boards, a few 2000's and 2500's, you name it I probably have it (no, I don't have any later gen stuff, nor do I have any 040 accelerators for anything but 4000s). Not to mention the ~1000 new unopened software titles. (even have around 100 CD32 games still wrapped here as well, 3 or 4 CDTV titles too).

Btw, I have checked into this in the past, barring the price of shipping it all (could be done in a pallet using a bulk carrier), if it's all documented properly as "returned merchandise to origins" there's no duty as long as all the correct export documents are in order it shouldn't be that crazy to ship $$-wise. Just be aware that I have no factory-new boxed stuff left, although my 4000's and 1200's are new, they aren't in boxes anymore (god only knows why, was done before my time for storage space reasons at the place where I aquired all this from).  :-D

Edit: I take back the 2000 part... I have 2 that don't seem to boot up. And I have 2 new 68040 boards to test in one of them too! Oh the irony.
