He could go to
bootdisk.com and download DOS or Windows bootdisk images with CD drivers on them, and install them back onto a floppy disk for use. By simply double-clicking on the downloaded self-extracting/self-writing image file, it writes itself back onto the floppy and regains its original form...sort of like an ADF file on Amiga. ;-)
