It's not a bad update. Just not the LATEST one.

Here is the latest update before Grex flashrom came out. It is dated (09.4.2000).

The most evident problem with the Grex flashrom is if you use Mediator 1200. Mediator requires a pci.library file in libs and Grex has it's own pci.library (same name), within the flashrom! Result, instant crash upon boot.
