Rodney, applications are coded for the DE/AA. Translator can make optimizations on the fly, depending of the CPU instructionset, register amount etc... To take full use of Altivec/SSE2 you most likely always need part of your application hand/compiler optimized for those special instructions.
DE/AA can be also "optimized" in abstraction layer to take full use of Linux/WindowsCE.NET/AmigaOS/whateverOS. And I think that has been done and that what the "optimized"-stuff in the PR is about. And I think WindowsCE.NET most likely more featurerich than Linux or AOS4.5+.
RedWarrior, IMO it is not a betrayal, it's living according to their promise. AI is not coding for M$ platforms. AI said they put DE/AA applications on top of every possible device, including the biggest markets dominated my M$. Thisway DE/AA developers get the most advantage of developing for it. And DE/AA apps will run also on AOS4.2.
" If it was coding for D.E. running on top of WinCE "
But it IS JUST that!!!
