Tandem IDE controller
« on: July 12, 2006, 05:53:29 PM »
Hi dudes

I have been trying to setup a tandem IDE controller in my A2000 setup,( it doesnt matter if its dog slow, since curremtly I only have scsi bus on the B2060, and from time on time i must have access to ide devices )

This is the card

http://www.amiga-hardware.com/showhardware.cgi?HARDID=532

Since it has one connector for standart IDE devices, I tried to have a 3gb ide HD which i cant partition above 2gb ( the disk is test as OK in other machines and the info displayed when I initilize the drive under HDtoolBox is ok too ), since it seems to do weird things if i put data on partitions made above the 2gb "barrier"

Also tried to put on it a CompactFlash to IDE adapter, and even HDtoolbox seems to recognize OK the capacity of the CF cartridge i put on it, I cant format the drive ( no matter what FS used )

This card isnt autobootable, so the system is a 3.9 running from the scsi on the b2060, and for the drivers of the tandem, im using a pair of files in EXPANSION drawer (OktagonAT IIRC) and in DEVS ( oktagon.device IIRC )

Can anyone can give me a hint of what the hell is happening here? Prolly im not using the correct drivers, but i really dunno.

Thank you in advance
