The best way I found to help my 92 year Grandfather learn was to give him a couple of ideas, show him how to do stuff, watch him do it, then turn him loose and walk away.

At first I had to reinstall his OS nearly every time I visited him, but he is improving at an amazing rate.

"Yeah there were this files with .dll extension what wouldn't execute and they were taking up so much space so I deleted them and freed up so much space but now my machine won't reboot.!!!"

Well when I stopped laughing I told him just to re install the machine.

LOL, My mother always did that! It got so bad my brother got mad at her and removed the DEL key once....
