A1000 FDD
« on: February 10, 2004, 11:29:01 AM »
Hi all

I just picked up a pair of good condition A1000's and a sidecar expansion, only problem is, one of the FDD's doesn't work, out of curiosity, if I was to get my hands on a replacement, how hard are they to change? Thanks in advance.

For those of you who are interested I pulled the dud A1000 apart, gave it all a good clean, ripped the FDD out of a spare A1010 that I had, replaced the old drive with the one in the A1010, put it all back together, hit the power switch and poof...a tip top A1000. Funny thing is, I have never seen the inside of an A1000 before, the signatures on the inside of the top cover are pretty funky, in fact the whole machine is a funky little piece of hardware. Oh well, yet another Amiga saved from the scrap heap. :-) :-) :-)
