Pioneer CD-ROM with A2000HD
« on: September 12, 2003, 06:56:50 AM »
Hi all, I had a spare Pioneer SCSI 40x CD-ROM lying around and I thought that it would be a great if I could get it working in my A2000HD. I installed it, set the SCSI ID to 1, hooked everything up, turned my system on, and nothing, the HD led just kept flashing on and off, unhooked the CD-ROM and it all worked fine again, BTW HD is set to ID 6 and I am using a A2091 controller. I then tried my external SCSI ZIP drive, set it to ID 5 and the same thing, the system just sat there doing nothing. Any advice or am I wasting my time. Thanks in advance.

Adam

It is terminated at the HDD, via a jumper, didn't think of trying the devices on their own, will do, thanks :-).

It should look something like this:

[Terminator] - [CD(1)] - [ZIP(5)] - [HD(6)] - [Controller(7)] - [Terminator]

I think, will double check everything tomorrow.

Well, I got it working, the CD-ROM anyway, will worry about the ZIP drive later, now all I need is a file system and I am right to go. On another note, would I be able to boot from the ZIP drive if I got it going?? Thanks for everybody's help. :-)
