Looking for a 27C240 - Chip
« on: September 09, 2004, 12:06:15 PM »
Hi all,

my Amiga offers to use a self-burnt eprom for use with almost any KickROM. I really want to use one of those modded 1.3-KickROMs, like those with Virusscanner, etc.

But the eprom needs to be a "27C240" OR "27C280".

Some of them were once delivered by Farnell (and probably others), but they are no longer available.

Anyone knowing a source for them or has one for sale?? Ideally, I'd like to buy one in Europe, and of course I'd need a shop selling to end-customers, not companies.

Have fun,
McTrinsic

Well, there have been some modified ("modded") KickROM files around - for the A1000 mostly ;) .

For example, one of them includes a virusscanner, and another one I know of even includes a demo!

Have fun,

At least with that, you can try out all the roms you want without wasting OTP Eproms.

Sorry, you misunderstood me.

My board offers to take one of these. Internally. So by adding one of them, loaded with a rom, I will have the option to switch (with real, hardware-switches) between KS1.3 (or whatever I choose to burn in there), KS 2.05 and KS3.1.

I can test any ROMs with my Blizzard Turbo Memory anyways, but thats not what I want, because I would have to boot with another ROM before, load the new ROM file, and then boot again...
