Well, I have one of those PCMCIA controllers as you describe. I have used a Mitsumi CD-R on it, but also a Creative drive. I don't think it should be a Mitsumi, in order to work, but I am aware of the info on
www.amiga-hardware.com.
In order to install the drive I use tandemat_pcmcia.device, and I think it's also in the IDE-fix package I think. If you don't manage to find the drivers, then PM me, and I will send the contents of devs: of the install disk.
