Try looking up the jumper settings for your drives on the net. I did that with my 3 x IBM drives and 1 x Plextor CD drive. The A0,A1,A2 and A3 doesn't always explain itself, like if you put a jumper on A0, it will not necessarily be SCSI ID 0 and so on.

Set the SCSI ID to 1, and only try with one device at a time. Maybe you will be lucky.

I installed a 2 GB IBM SCSI drive in my Kickstart 1.3 equipped A500 not long ago. I had to softkick to Kickstart 2.0, and then run HDInstTools in order to get all 2 GB going.

What drives are you trying to use, and which rev. of the boot roms have you got on the A2091?

Yeah, I was thinking it was IBM drives. I have one sitting in my A4000 SCSI tower.

The IBM drives are a bit tricky to setup, at least they were for me. As already suggested, try to find the jumper settings for your drive on the net. I found mine by googeling for "IBM (drivename) jumper settings".

Set the jumpers according to the schematic that I'm sure you will find. Set the SCSI ID and set the termination jumper.

With Kickstart 3.1 it should be able to handle at least 4 GB of your 9 GB drive. After installation of OS3.9 you should be able to access the rest of the drive, but I take it is your plan afterall?

In case you have a 1 GB drive, try this one if you can not get the 9 GB drive to work. If the 1 GB drive works, then I'm afraid you haven't got v7 of the boot roms. The roms on my recently sold A2091 card had a sticker on the roms saying 7.0; any stickers or yours?

@orange

At least you can not break anything by doing so, so I would suggest you try it.
