If you launch FindCD from harddisk without having the device drivers copied to devs: then it will not find ýour CD drive. Copy atapi.device from the IDEfix package found on Aminet to devs: and FindCD will find your CD drive. If not it is either wrong jumpering or a defective CD drive.

Now when you have the IDEfix package already there, just use the installer included.

IDEfix can be found on Aminet (www.aminet.net). Download it, copy it to your Amiga harddrive and unarc it and install from there.

If you want to use the inbuilt CD driver with OS3.1 makesure that you have the following files on your harddrive. A file called CDFileSystem must be in L:, and you must have a file called CD0 with the corresponding .info file in your Devs:DOSDrivers drawer or in Storage:DOSDrivers.

In order to use these files you must have a string in either the tooltypes for CD0 or in the CD0 file itself called UNIT and DEVICE. Unit must be set to 1 and device must be set to scsi.device. This also means that you must place the CD drive on the first cabel along with your hdd, and the CD drive must be set to slave.

In order to use the second channel of the IDEfix you need atapi.device.
