Try adding SKIPROMMODULES "scsi.device" to the SetPatch line; maybe the Hitachi drive doesn't like the update for scsi device that is in BoingBag2.

Made a small typing error :-( I hope this will fix your problem; the setpatch line should look like this:

Setpatch SKIPROMUPDATES "scsi.device" QUIET
