Nah, haven't done any of them even though I have both controllers...I can't see the big problem with the A590 and the extra psu since the A590 powers up together with the A500.

On the other hand I can see the benefit on the GVP since you have to turn the psu for the hd on first, unless you want to break anything. Since my GVP psu has a defective case at this point, I will make the mod, unless someone will convince me that I'd better not :-)

OK, if the PSU is broken that's a fairly good reason :-) Vesalia has a PSU for A590 for around 10 EURO (I think it was 10 EURO, might be wrong) if you prefer powering it through a PSU. At least that was what I got when I ordered my CD32 PSU.

You are sure that it's not a broken power cable to the hdd that is causing these problems? Afterall, these hacks are pretty easy even though you need to disassemble the whole controller on the A590. I will do mine next week when I get the time for it.
