Well, the way I see it PayPal is a good thing to use to pay for goods bought on eBay, and I haven't got any problems with the fees that are posted on the various auction sites.

It make life a bit easier when paying, and the advantages as I see it is as follows:

1. Fast payment
2. Secure payment
3. No worries about checks going to the wrong person, or being lost in the mail.
4. No need to pay the bank the expensive fees for making international payments.

Yesterday I had to pay 25 EURO for making a bank transfer to Germany for a 200 EURO item. Had the seller had PayPal and charged the "normal" fee on PayPal transfers then I should have paid 210 EURO instead. Furthermore the person wouldn't have to wait for 5 days in order to get the money.

Therefore I don't mind paying the PayPal fees stated on the auction sites, because if eBay decides to take a look on this "problem" the outcome would be that the seller has to answer 100s of emails answering the same question, and in the end adding the fees as "shipping costs".

At least that's my point of view on this subject.

EDIT

Oh, and to the eBay auction shown it's a cool item. I have also seen the motherboard in real life, and looks very good indeed. By mistake I have made a new thread about this item, so I guess it should just be ignored or removed by moderator :-)
