Amiga 1
« on: January 19, 2004, 04:44:57 PM »
Ok, I am getting ready to "bit the bullet" and use my tax return this year to buy an Amiga 1.  Now the question is where?  I would prefer to buy a complete system, any suggestions?

Dave

I live in the US.  I am hoping to be able to buy one in the US.  That VAT thing in the EU drives the cost way, way up for me.

oh, computer needs.  Just the general stuff.  I work as a software/hardware support all day long.  But my needs at home are basic.  Email, Web Surfing, MP3, Video stuff.   I am aware that even OS4 will not be a complete solution.  But it is a catch 22.  If no one buys it there will not be software support forthcoming.  I have seen enough to know that OS4 will most likely work for me 90% of the time or more.  I am very hopeful for OS4, I absolutly will not buy the next version of MS, period.  I will find a different platform.    Apple holds no interest for me and I feel that it is way, way over priced.  Thanks for the help.

I will checkout Software Hut.  Now for a qustion completely off topic.  I have setup a "signature" but even when I check "Attatch Signature" under options in the Post Message screen. It doesn't show up.  Any ideas.  Not a big deal but I thougt I would ask.

Actually for an Apple I have seen it run about 2 grad, becasuse you have to buy a monitor also.  It doesn't use the same monitor the rest of the world does.  Also I have heard that you need a pretty hefty system beause OSX can be non very responsive on older Mac hardware.  One thing I am sure of OS4 will be very responsive and I won't need to buy complety new hardare from the ground up.
