While I don't think it's fair of Eyso to write American culture off completely, he has a point about your (and I mean you personally) sense of humour. No-one in this thread is taking it that seriously, why're you getting so upset?

No-one alive today is to blame for the excesses of the old British Empire. As such, in all seriousness, no-one in their right mind actually cares whether we used to "own" you, nor do the acts of a dead generation of Britons make us feel any less qualified to protest the imperialist actions/stances of present governments.
