@Idituri

Amiga.org is attempting to secure a DSL connection for the duration of the show on the show floor.  If that is possible, then we will be networking the entire show floor via 802.11b and 384kbps (upload) DSL.

The DSL company has already stated that they would be more than willing to allow it, the only issue is the hotel and they are currently working with them to resolve any issues there.

If we can accomplish it, what that means is

1) The UGN being able to broadcast live video and audio more stably than before.

2) All machines on the show floor being networked

3) Even your PDAs might be networked.

4) We might have a neat surprise or two up our sleeves.

5) Live video feed interviews, etcetera.

Lots of details to work out, and AmiWest is just around the corner, but it could be fantastic...

Just read the thread. Actually pretty much EVERYTHING should have been moderated away being **off topic** (including this one) with a few exceptions.
Hi Hooligan

I agree, and would like to thank my moderation staff for their help.  All of this took place last night while I was away from the computer and without their help, this would have been a much sadder thread than it turned out to be.

OS4 being shown in the US -- whether on CSPPC or the AmigaOne -- is a positive (and very rare apparently) thing.

OS4 being shown, for really the first time in the same place as the Pegasos so that people can get a hands-on with both is a positive thing (for the community).

Show attendees being able to play with both systems and for THE FIRST TIME EVER being able to make up their own minds based on the systems in front of them -- not forums and FUD, is a good thing.

The idea that we MIGHT be able to massively hook the show up with DSL for the first time ever is a good thing..

The fact that there are ANY shows still happening to promote the Amiga after everything that we as a community have been put through is a good thing...

So let's stop all the negative crap and look at the positives in this situation.  Just make plans to attend the show and go with an open mind, in whatever direction that takes you.  That should make your experience with either system much, much more enjoyable.

@z5

I really don't understand how ANYONE could turn my comment into a negative thing quite so elegantly as you have here.

The show is a good thing.  The fact that Hyperion is allowing users to show OS4 to the American public (which I cannot recall happening before) is a good thing.

Let people make up their own minds please.
