Image Gallery fixed -- at a great loss.
« on: March 25, 2003, 05:06:03 PM »
The Image Gallery (and Image-o-Matic) has now been fixed and purged of all non-existent images after the server move.  Unfortunately this procedure to fix it ended up removing roughly 30% of the 900 images we had online.

Especially effected were the desktop screenshots and wallpapers.  If you have contributed images in the past, please help us re-establish our Image Gallery by submitting them again.

We would REALLY be interested in screenshots and wallpapers for other people to draw inspiration from.

Wayne you obviously missed that lesson

{edit} Now I get it.  The problem wasn't with saving, the problem was with the way that ownerships and permissions were screwed up on the old box.  The same exact thing that occassionally "broke" the avatars kept me from properly backing it all up.

i think its a bad idea, why add more traffic to the site, and rise the cost of driving this place ?
Thanks for your input, but anything worth doing is worth doing well.  Several people highly enjoy the Image gallery.  I want to get the site away from just news, since I don't have the time to surf every site out there every day as I once did.

I can't help the fact that you're one of those weirdo individuals that surfs the Web without images.  Crazy I tell you.  Then again, you probably still use an Antique to do so :)
