ActivXperts Network Monitor v5.0 released
« on: October 31, 2002, 12:06:30 PM »
ActivXperts Software (http://www.activxperts.com), a leader in network and system monitoring software, recently announced ActivXperts Network Monitor 5.0.

The software helps system and network engineers to monitor their network servers, and notifies when a server is not available., and even helps to recover, if possible.

The software has support for other platforms as well, like the Amiga computer.

The software has built-in monitor rules for:
- HTTP(s) and FTP, including content checking, including support for proxy server
- Windows Event Log, Services, DiskSpace, File Existence
- Databases: MS SQL, ODBC, Oracle
- TCP/IP, SMTP, POP3, Telnet, TCP, ICMP
- Group membership
- Processes
- Active Directory service checks, NT SAM checks
- VBScript, WMI and ADSI
- and many more.

Most important new feature is the redesigned client application: system and network engineers now have the ability to actually see realtime monitoring information on their desktop instead of on the console. The core of the software is running as a service on Windows NT/2000 platforms.
Also an important new feature is the support for VBScript.

"There are quite some network monitoring applications available today, but none of them provide the unique interface between service and user. Also, the new VBScript support enables Windows Management Interface (WMI) and Active Directory Service Interface (ADSI). This is very important, because customers can define a huge set of monitoring rules now", says Marian Vahland, Marketing Director of ActivXperts Software. “Furthermore, the multithreading architecture of the software provides real time information of the network server availability”.
