A3000 31KHz video on LCD problem / questions...
« on: April 16, 2010, 12:31:41 PM »
Hi,

I've tried to connect an SVGA LCD monitor to my A3000 via the 15-pin 31KHz video port and the only screen mode that the monitor will display seems to be Multiscan Productivity - the monitor correctly reports it as 640x480@60Hz.

All other Amiga modes make the monitor report "Video signal out of range" and nothing is displayed. I've tried switching the "Enable/Disable" switch and this makes no difference...

I thought all Amiga screen modes would automatically work on pretty much any VGA screen?

The LCD monitor I'm using supports the following input frequencies: 30 to 63 kHz horizontal; 56 to 76 Hz vertical - could this be the issue? Does it need to support 50Hz vertical?

My A3000 has KS3.1 ROMs and is set to PAL...

If anyone can help or give me some more info on the VGA port, that would be great!

Cheers,

Mike.

Hi Guys,

Once again thanks for the info...

I tried (via the early startup display option) to switch the system over to NTSC and it worked fine. So now I just need an LCD that will handle 50Hz screens - I have a couple lined up already :-)

@jkirk,

I know what you mean, but since the A3000 can already do 90% of what the Indivision can, I'll try a PAL capable LCD first :-)

Cheers,

Mike.
