Simultaneous LAN + Internet?
« on: January 23, 2003, 10:22:36 PM »
I can connect my Amiga to a PC via Ethernet.

I can exchange files back and forth using Genesis.

I can connect to Internet on my roommate's PC or on
my Amiga.

I can connect to Internet while my roommate's PC
also connects, thanks to a Router.

But trying to have an internet connection AND
a LAN connection operating SIMULTANEOUSLY seems
to give both the PC and my Amiga fits.

I wonder what I have to do for both LAN and
Internet to work at the same time?

Ok, a diagram and setup:

Cable -> Cable Modem -> Router

 Amiga->  Router  <-PC

Amiga      PC
=====      ==
Genesis/   TCP/IP SW EZ CARD (10/100)
X-Surf w/  IP CDROM (sets up connection)
Samba

This suffices for the LAN.

To hook up to internet, I have had to connect with
different settings.
