The issue I'm having is with the monitor. The monitor doesn't seem to have any external damage at all, maybe a tiny bump on the top, but the problem is the display it self. The monitor turns on, but I don't see a power led or picture. The guy I purchased the monitor from, on eBay, noted that you had to hit the power button several times to turn it on or off, but I'm not getting anything. I hear it turn on, but I see no picture or power led.

What should I do to get the monitor to work, or is it broken?

The monitor caps might be bad. And a few other factors. You should turn off the monitor for at least a week. Then open it up but be very careful opening it up.  Or have someone else look at it.

I found out something interesting. When I have both the Amiga and the monitor turned on, I see a faint red light from the monitor power led.

Edit: I went onto AmigaKit and bought a Amiga RGB to SVGA/*multiscan video adapter (will try to use another CRT monitor). Hopefully, it should work, if not, I'll return both the A500 and Monitor.

Yeah the led is red when it on from what I researched.  That is sign that works but if it not showing a picture than it bigger issue. Caps and few other electronic things.
