Amithlon v2 resurrection, possible ?
« on: October 03, 2004, 12:41:38 AM »
I was just wondering, with Amiga now in the hands of Kmos, does this change any contract Bernd Meyer had with Amiga Inc. I know there are other companies involved like
Haage & partner(legal issues) but I thought mabey with the changing of the gaurds, there might be hope for Amithlon v2. Also, Bernd is also doing updates to the original amithlon from time to time here. Amithlon blog
What are yout thoughts ?

Can't someone else distribute it? H & P were just the distributors correct? I thought Amiga inc asked Bernd to stop development and H & P continued selling it after violating some sort of license. I can't remember all the details. I will look it up.

I for one think there would be a market for this. Who besides myself would pay in the $100 range for an Amiga type platform over $800 + US dollars for an amiga one.
I don't think Im alone. And if the people involved with Amiga would think this way, they might actualy make money. People buy otherwise free Linux disros everyday, why not Amithlon ? It has a geekdom apeal and is an alternative from the main stream. Also the slim market for amigaone will not save Amiga. But it doesn't apear it's not going to happen as nothing good ever seems to survive for the Amiga.
