Nostalgia really. Just been diagnosed with the big C and it makes you think about all the good times you had and the Amiga for me was one of them. I'd like the experience of opening a brand new Amiga as if I were back in the day. Sad I know... Just one of those things. I want to play loads of games on it like Frontier, SWOS, Settlers, Battle Isle, Syndicate, the list goes on. I only ever had a hand me down a500 with half meg expansion. My big bro had the 1200 which he's just gave to me but its battered and brown and held together with tape because he'd had it open loads to fit a hard drive etc. I'm pretty OCD when it comes to keeping things clean tidy and in good condition so I want a new one. :)

I may have a nice 1200 in the next week, if I do and I decide to sell I'll keep you in mind. I might dig the 1200 though so can't say yet.

HEHE...I know, some peoples collections are awesome. While I think we should all own a daily driver and one or 2 spares, if someone want to own 50 it's their right IMO. However it's also my opinion it sucks for those of us who want to use one and cant find them.

One of these days we'll all have to use emulators or hardware clones, even for our PC's we have now. I'd rather just use it and enjoy it, than put it in a box where it is still going to age anyhow. Rather have the experience than worry about the air and light touching it and never enjoying it.

I don't get the collectors that just keep things in the package, I think they are more "historians" of a certain product or company than "collectors" who enjoy the experience of using the item.

I'd be guilty myself of going back in time to the 70's and living there forever however. I suppose we all have our "thing".

Why the urge to play quake or Doom, weren't those pc only games and just fan ports for the Amigas ? I think i'd rather play those particular games on my pc where they prob run as they should.
