64mb SIMM on a Cyberstorm MkII / Mk III
« on: August 05, 2003, 05:37:41 PM »
Last year I came across a site ( I forget where ) for dedicated Amiga video setups.
In the spec list I noted two interesting points...
(1) 060
(2) total memory 256mb !

Occasionally I have come across 64mb SIMMS but didn't think to try one as they were expensive at the time and the general thinking in the Amiga news groups at the time had discarded the idea.
Anyone tried a 64mb SIMM on a Cyberstorm
Any ideas ?
 :-o

My manual says the same but I think at the time of manufacture that 64 Mb SIMMS were both expensive and rare and perhaps - don't know for sure - not released - correct me if I'm wrong.
The DKB 3128 only takes a maximum of 128Mb according to this site  http://wonkity.com/~wblock/a4000hard/d3128ref.html
The model name DKB 3128 also has "128" in it which would seem to point to it's mem capacity.
What I'm interested in is "what determined the upper limit" on a CsMkII or MkIII.

Just checked out the Fastlane and yes, it seems that with a bit of hassle it will take 256mb but in 16mb SIMM modules no mention of 64mb SIMMS.
I was surprised about this unit & 256mb capability.
The Fastlane site is here
