one 80GB partition only?

Create a 200 MB partition at the beginning of your HD and letf the other unformatted.

Boot from the Emergency disk and then install OS3.9 from there onto the 200MB partition.

Then goto the AmigaOS 3.9 official FAQ page to iron out some problems you'll get anyway ;-) (an early OS3.9 version CD copies the wrong SetPatch f.e)

10 GB for a boot partition, is a no go with your starting setup.
