Well, I have the exact same issue with my 4000T
i've often noticed, this kind of problems, on A4000T and on some A3000 (both system has its own SCSI controller).
Could be possible, that the CSMKIII SCSI controller with its own driver, can interferee with the A4000T SCSI one.

AFAIK the CSMKII, needs the 50 MHZ crystal installed on the mobo.
