Hi Effy,

pay attention that those 060 is a "NO MMU" and "NO FPU" model. (too cheap to be true).

For the upgrade to the 060,

http://obligement.free.fr/articles/blizzard040060.php

Ciao

PS- pay attention at the oscillator too.

i.e IF the 1240 is a 040@25 Mhz . .  .no problem (it already has a 50 Mhz oscillator installed)

but if the 040 is a 40 Mhz one, it has installed a 80 Mhz oscillator that is too much for the 060.

Last advice . .  .if the 040 is soldered (and NOT socketed) . . . . good luck :-)

at this point i'm confused too.

You can't install a 68060 on a XCalibur NOR on a A3640.

You can upgrade to the 060, ONLY the Blizzard 1240.

Ciao

EDIT- just checked . . .those Blizzard is a 040@40 Mhz already.

http://www.juergen-buedenbender.de/ebay/amiga/index2.html

Look at the 80 Mhz oscillator.

It looks in mint condition and easy to upgrade to the 060.

the boards, were produced labeled A1260 even if they were 040.

For the XCalibur . . .you can't install a 060 on it.

The 040 socket has less pins than the 060 one.

About the A3640 . . .  . the same.

Ciao

@Orjan

those Blizzard, has never seen a 060.

Take a look to the front picture and you will see, that the place were should be placed the 3,3 voltage regulator, is clean and never soldered or removed.

http://www.juergen-buedenbender.de/ebay/amiga/index2.html

The 040 has no need of a voltage regulator, it take the +5v from the PSU.

Ciao

BTW- sorry but those card has the 040 SOLDERED without a socket

http://www.juergen-buedenbender.de/ebay/amiga/index3.html

http://www.juergen-buedenbender.de/ebay/amiga/index4.html

so . . . it is more difficult to upgrade it to a 060.
