I'm in the same boat. The other issue I have found in the US is that the 1200's are NTSC. Like Hattig the FPGA looks nice and it's right around the corner. Check out this video on youtube it looks awesome.

This is with the daughter board card running at some incredible speed all very good. I have been holding off and waiting also.

Keep AWAY, really AWAY from the MCC-216 and the people behind it.
After 3 years, it still uses ILLEGAL Minimig core code (they stole the code from an early version, then didn't open it back) wich reduces compatibility to 30% of the games.

Then you have the only logical options, wich are:

-Minimig V1.1 board: I don't know if it's on sale anymore, but it's great. Compatibility using the latest core (FPGA hardware implementation) is ~100% with OCS/ECS software. There's no known failing game or demo, but you're welcome to prove otherwise.

-FPGA Arcade: The future. As it will use the current open Minimig core code wich added AGA and fixes by MikeJ and others, this is the best option imho. It's not easy to get now, but as production goes up, it will be the de facto choice for FPGA Amigas.

-The MisT board and the Altera DE1: they share the Minimig core with fixes by Chaos and others. Compatibility is also ~100% nowadays with ECS/OCS even if they use an FPGA-implemented 68k CPU, as the FPGA Arcade does.
The DE1 has no joystick ports, but it's relatively easy to add them.
I'd go for the MisT because it's an Atari800 and an Atari ST too :)

Whatever you do, avoid the MCC-216, or you'll be in great rage with the scammers behind it.

Thanks for the info on the MCC-216 I hadn't even heard of this unit.
